A Family Matter

Sleep disorders affect loved ones, too, as well as employers.
Often, family members can not sleep because a loved one is snoring. On the job, employers pay the price for mistakes, injuries and lost productivity.
Usually, the first step to a good night's sleep is to take an over-the-counter medication just to get throughout the night. These pills rarely provide long-term solutions.
But, at Athens Center for Sleep Disorders, we provide solutions for reliable, peaceful, healthy sleep.

Our Promise

Athens Center for Sleep Disorders provides a comfortable and convenient alternative to hospital-based sleep studies.
We keep our fees reasonable and offer a full range of sleep-disorder solutions. Athens Center for Sleep Disorders is the first sleep disorders center in Henderson County to be eligible for accreditation by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. We accept and file most insurance, welcome all major credit cards and offer flexible, individualized payment plans to fit your budget, too.
And you will feel confident knowing that we are the family sleep center of personal choice for many local doctors and their families.

Our "House"

The environment here at Athens Center for Sleep Disorders is soothing and inviting, with comfortable amenities and friendly, welcoming faces.
Unlike conventional hospital-style sleep disorder study rooms, our atmosphere includes many of the comforts of home, including private bedrooms with soft comfortable pillows and blankets, individual heating and air conditioning controls, fans in each room, televisions and convenient bathrooms and showers.
This natural and comfortable environment for sleep studies allows our patients to feel relaxed and helps provide more accurate results. For children undergoing a sleep study, we welcome parents to stay overnight.

A Caring Staff    The heart of good healthcare depends on the heart of the people practicing it. That is why you will feel good about the professionals at Athens Center for Sleep Disorders
The first quality you will notice is that your sleep challenge is being met by a licensed medial doctor/sleep specialist with years of varied medical experience and the ability to recognize many medical origins of your sleep problems.
Our director, Ronald D. Cates, MD, has been practicing medicine since 1982 and is former Lt. Colonel (select) of the U.S. Air Force. One of the first qualities you will notice about Dr. Cates is the way he listens to what you have to say. Dr. Cates knows that the information you are giving him about your sleep habits and problems is vital to providing the best possible solution for your particular sleep disorder.
You will find our support staff to be both professional and caring. They will spend as much time with you as needed and will answer you questions in language you can understand.

Advanced Testing    In order to determine the cause of your sleep disorder, Dr. Cates and the staff at the Athens Center for Sleep Disorders use state-of-the-art equipment to record the information that will provide the clues needed to help provide you with restful sleep each night.
